Its all over

Visible to anyone in the world

Hi All,

I haven't posted a blog since 2015 lol but on Sunday I submitted my last EMA, and my 5 1/2 year journey has come to an end.

Looking forward to graduating.

Good luck to all those still studying and to those who are just starting out.

Some pearly wisdomsmile

I wont lie the journey is tough, tougher than what I expected when I started, part-time study along side work and family is a struggle but it is all worth while. You do get there. It will change your life, you will think differently and you will be inspired every step of the way.

So even if your thinking its too much and you want to give up - Don't!! keep going 'YOU HAVE THIS AND YOU ARE AMAZING'.

For me I am going to enjoy Netflix and running guilt free and get my social life back. LOL

LOVE U - BYE xxxxx

Not Long now

Visible to anyone in the world

Pathway changed, I am now studying to complete a BA honours in Business Management, luckily the 4 modules I have already completed count towards this qualification - Lucky approve. I still don't know if I should have added leadership to the mix instead of the standard pathway. I'm sure I can add it after this module ?!

I am still awaiting my resource books for this module (B203) and really want them to arrive this week so that I can organise my study schedulesmile and life hahahaha.

I don't know why but I am really excited about my new direction and where I am going. This journey so far has been truly amazing and opened so many doors for me. I really didn't think I had it in me to study at this level, but I have and I think it's down to you guys on here, you all are so inspirational and I have the most amazingly supportive family aswell, who have got me through the tough times both study wise and personally. I am feeling blessed.

Good luck to all of you on the OU journey. Hope you all reach your goalssmile

Change in Pathway and module

Visible to anyone in the world

I wondered if anyone has recently changed their pathway and then have to change their module? The reason I ask is because I changed my pathway on the cut off date - 10th September and was advised the module I am due to start in Oct is not one I now need, so they have cancelled this and I am awaiting to get the green light to see if I have a place on the other module that also starts in Oct, but I haven't heard anything and have been told it is still awaiting to be processed that was a few days ago.

Has anyone else had problems changing, or are still awaiting to hear? I just need reassurance that it is normal mixed

Thank you

Visible to anyone in the world

Submitted my first TMA01 for LB160. It was to write a summary for a piece of text. Though does not carry a lot of weight, it is important for my next TMA.

Fingers crossed it is spot on.

New Module

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Becky Gane, Thursday, 16 Apr 2015, 13:29

It has been ages since I posted anything on my blog page.

I am really excited to have started my fourth module LB160 'Communication in business'. I'm really enjoying it so far.big grin Mt tutor group seems friendly and the student forum is lively. I have missed TGF.

I have to say I didn't enjoy my last module DB123 ' personal finance' but I think the reason for this was because it wasn't the module I had originally signed up to and I was hoping to avoid this having to do it. Also because there was a mix up on modules I was 6 weeks behind when I started and I had already missed my first TMA, I felt rushed and thrown in. But all good I achieved high marks in all TMA's and I'm just about to write my EMA, fingers crossed I pass and I can leave this module behind me smile

I have  also enrolled for my 60 credits module that starts in September. I'm dreading that one as there is a written exam involved and I am not good in exam situations. Any tips for then would be much appreciated.

Hope you all have an amazing day.

Happy studying xx

Update

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Becky Gane, Monday, 22 Sep 2014, 14:24

It's been a while since I have been on and posted anything, so I thought I would come and give an up-date.

Since my last post, I passed both my modules last year and got a distinction in one. Very pleased, seeing as they were the first modules I have ever done through the OU and it had been years since I had studied at this level.

So now ........

I was promoted to Dental Practice Manager at the beginning of the year, which has brought along with it more responsibility and hours.

There are only 14 days left until my new module B123 - Management Practice begins and I'm looking forward to the module site being available tomorrow. I know what I will be doing as soon as I wake up tomorrow lol - having a nosesmile

There is only one book for this module, which is good lol. It's a thick one though and more like a companion.

I have organised my study in preparation and put up my academic wall calender and brought plenty of post-it notes and set up my learning journal on my computer.

I'm feeling confident, organised and prepared. Bring it on

Spiders

Visible to anyone in the world

So I'm studying away, trying to get my head around the HR department and the function of the CIPD and a giant, I mean absolutely massive spider runs across my books and jumps on my laptop, causing me to jump and I end up falling off my chair.

Well that's one way to make me loose focus and the spider has done a runner, nowhere to be seen. It's like it did it on pupose lol I bet I end up on spider-tube!!!

Calling it a night lol

Stupid Spider!!!!!!!

Visible to anyone in the world

I didn't realize how scary submitting my first TMA's was going to be, until today.

Two TMA 01's submitted, I'm just hoping they are correct and the content appropriate to what was asked of me.

I suppose I will find out in two weeks time.

Fingers, toes, arms and legs all crossed!!!!!

Loving it

Visible to anyone in the world

Started my modules on Saturday, and I am loving it. Though I have to say it may take a bit longer to get my time management correct.

I was so apprehensive about starting, as I haven't studied for such a long time, and the subject I have chosen is very much out of my comfort zone but I am enjoying it so much. The tutors have been great and the TGF is very informative.

If the modules hadn't been so well laid out, I would have got my self in a real mmess by now.

I'm hoping my enthusiasm continues

It has begun

Visible to anyone in the world

EEEEKKKK started my modules yesterday, so far so good.

Weekly planner is completed for this week showing when I have dedicated time to study. Just have to stick to it now and not get side tracked.

Have had some really good advice from my tutor and that is to get ahead if I can, just incase the unexpected happens and I can't get to study when I had planned to. I think this will be essential for me, having two children anything can happen lol.

Not long now

Visible to anyone in the world

EEEKKKK three weeks to go and I embark on my business management and leadership FD.

Since I have signed up to my degree, I seem to be watching the news more and listening to the business items lol. This can only be a good thing.

I have also joined the business forum and today I completed the induction, which i have to say was very informative.

Now all there is left to do is receive my second module lot of books, which are due next week and start looking through them in preperation.

Roll on 5th October. I am ready for you hahahahahahahabig grin
