Learning Journal 3 - LB160

Visible to anyone in the world

I didn't write a learning journal at the end of session 3 as I already had enough work to do with completing my EMA for DB123. Anyway overall I am feeling more confident in producing an anlysis. However I am struggling to remember and spot the different types of words or phrases such as casual linking words. I am going to look back through the book and make notes of the different types of words, which will hopefully help me remember them. I do like the fact that there's a lot of activities which boosts my confidence when I get them right, but also helps me see which area's I need to focus on more. Also its brilliant that the answers are at the end of the session's so I cant take a peak at the answers before I do the activity, as its had not to look at the answers when they are directly beneath the activities as they were in B120.

Onto to session 5!

Learning Journal 2 - LB160

Visible to anyone in the world

After this session I feel a lot more confident about breaking sentences and paragraphs into noun groups and key concepts, which will hopefully help a lot in TMA01. I have now also realised what an input text is. Its the text you start off with such as a case study or assignment text (just to prove I do know ;)). I've started TMA01 and I've completed a mind map, so all I need to do know is to convert my notes into coherent sentecnes and stick within the 300 word count. I'm still not 100% confident about a step analysis but i'm hoping I learn from practice. However I do feel confident with stakeholder analysis because I learnt about it in B120 so I already have some knowledge about it.

Well onto session 3.

Learning Journal 1 - LB160

Visible to anyone in the world

I have just completed B120 An Introduction To Business Studies, which has given me basic information on a range of different things, although it never went into analysing business cases. I was worried it would be very complicated to do but session 1 has eased my nerves. The Us airlines text took a while to sink in as it seems to be a long text that I knew nothing about, however the note taking and other skills did help me to make sense of it. My methods of note taking have always been to read the case and highlight important information which I then typed into a document on my laptop as I find texts hard to sink in any other way. Having looked back at activity 1.4 and I am still not sure what an input text is. My highest level of qualification for grammar, language and communication at present is A-C GCSE's, so I have a lot to learn.

I feel more confident after finishing session 1 and cant wait to start sessions 2.
