Block 3 Part 2: Cloud computing

Visible to anyone in the world

Cloud computing

I was supposed to post on my blog last night... but it got late and I forgot to post anything.

After reading through the cloud computing material, my biggest concern is security.

How can I be sure my information will not get into the wrong hands and not be accessed by

parties that are not authorised?

After learning that some clouds systems use distributed computing, how do I know my

information is going to a safe location? or even in the same country as the Cloud provider?

Block 3 Part 2: Cloud computing

Visible to anyone in the world

Cloud computing.

Am I sceptical?  Yes.

Because who wants a service/product that you don't physically own?

it's definitely the future.. but I would actually like to own what I am paying for.

A utility service such as gas, electric or water isn't the same as Cloud computing in my eyes,

probably because I couldn't actually physically own or provide my own water, electric or gas

to my own home; well I could but without major investment and effort.

Of course, I will welcome such technology.

Exploring IPv6 Connecting computers to a network.

A lot of information to take in regarding IPv6.

I had to read the material several times just to make sure I had taken in most of the

information:

The basic information I have taken in regarding this:

IPv6 uses 128 bits.

IPv6 are displayed in Hexadecimal.

IPv6 have more designated IP address.

Back to the assignment.

Visible to anyone in the world

Had a good Christmas and I cannot wait for 2015 to being.

After being on stop for a couple of days for Christmas to enjoy time with my family and friends.

I am now back on the TMA03 assignment for TU100 and getting little bits done at a time for

the 6th of January deadline, but I am finding it hard to get back into it... ha.

Christmas time.

Visible to anyone in the world

Handed in my final assignment for the year, and feeling some relief as it takes it off my mind off it.

I am finding it harder and harder to study around Christmas as my work load has increased to keep work clocking over during the holiday period!

I have decided to start using an audio book on my phone and listen to the material I have downloaded through headphone,s then read the study material when I get home - PERFECT!

Sense Progamming! 1 - 3

Visible to anyone in the world

I am starting to really enjoy the programming involved with the sense software! This is

actually my 1st time doing any sort of programming!

I have already completed this weeks Study week for my Digital lifestyle, as I had some time

off work, so I used that opportunity to my advantage.

I have also had time to complete a fair bit of the computer marked assignments 51 and 52!

Robotics Study week 2 - Moving and sensing TM129

Visible to anyone in the world

Having just completed the study session for TM129: Robotics Study week 2 and the Robot

lab session 2, I feel hell of a lot more competent in using the RobotLab program and I really

enjoyed learning about the different Perception and actuation systems that are involved in

robotics.

I really enjoyed the more practical aspect of the RobotLab this week, and really enjoyed

editing and making my own programs for the SAQ sessions to test what I have been learning is

actually sinking in.

Safe to say all my notes and reading is actually going in! Ha!

BIGDOG video

Visible to anyone in the world

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=cNZPRsrwumQ#t=0

This is a robot developed to help the military carry heavy loads across harsh terrain,

The self correcting stability really impressed me, I was in shock at how the robot handled itself in the situation of low friction and/or uneven ground!
