Hi Juliet

The Open University modules in the Foundation Degree in Counselling (X09) start in October but registration for these closed on the 11th September so the next start date will be October 2021.  Please be aware that this qualification has entry requirements and it is recommended that students have completed the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling before registering for this qualification.  If you haven’t done this it would be worth contacting the CPCAB provider closest to you to see if their course is still open for registration.  You can find your local provider and read about the entry requirements here:

http://www.open.ac.uk/courses/counselling/diplomas/foundation-degree-in-counselling-x09#entry-requirements

If you live in Scotland the qualification is offered as a Diploma of Higher Education in Counselling (W09) and the CPCAB courses have limited geographical availability.  You can see this version of the qualification here:

http://www.open.ac.uk/courses/counselling/diplomas/diploma-in-counselling-w09

Your funding options will depend upon where you live in the UK and whether you have completed the CPCAB study.  You can read about this and use the finance finder which will tell you your funding options for the Open University modules within the course at:

http://www.open.ac.uk/courses/counselling/diplomas/foundation-degree-in-counselling-x09#fees-and-funding

Your local CPCAB college provider will be able to advise you on the cost and funding requirements for their courses.

As this is one of our more complex qualifications with entry requirements and external courses it would benefit you to call our Student Recruitment team where they will be able to locate your student record, check where you live, ask about your previous study and then advise about your options from there.  The telephone number is 0300 303 5303 and lines are open Monday to Friday 8am – 5.30pm.
