WHERE TO START

Hi,

I am new to this whole world of OU, and haven't studied since I was 14, but would like to investigate getting back into it.

Do I need to go and do my GCSE,s before I start, or is there a more efficient way to start back to education.

Not sure of what I want to do as a job, but just start learning again and see where that takes me.

Oh I do enjoy gardening and animals.

I am aged 21.

Thanks look forward to some useful advise.

Hi John and thanks for getting in touch.

It's great to hear you're interested in getting back into study. Our courses are open entry so you don’t need GCSE’s to study with us but you may like to start your studies with a Access module. Access modules are a gentle introduction to studying with the OU and help to prepare you for an OU qualification. You may also be able to apply for a free place.

We offer three different Access modules covering a range of subject areas so there is bound to be one of interest for you.  The three are Arts and Languages, People, work and society and Science, technology and maths and you can read about them here:

http://www.open.ac.uk/courses/do-it/access

You can see our full range of courses and subject areas here:

The next start date for the Access modules is May and registration for them closes today so there is still time to register if you wanted to. The next start date after this is in October and registration for this start date is open now. When you have had a look at the links above you are very welcome to call our Student Recruitment team where they will be pleased to help. The telephone number is 0300 303 5303 and lines are open Monday to Friday 8am - 5.30pm.
