Hi George,
Thanks for getting in touch. Students with a personal income of £25,000 or less (including income replacement benefits) who are studying between 30-120 credits will be eligible for a Part Time Fee Grant (PTFG). Eligible benefits include almost all income replacement benefits but students should check directly with The Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS). They can be called on 0300 300 3137 (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 09:00 to 16:00), their full contact details can be found on the link below:
https://www.saas.gov.uk/contact-us
Both new and continuing students must meet the general residence conditions as set out in the relevant guide at:
https://www.saas.gov.uk/part-time/undergraduate-funding
https://www.saas.gov.uk/guides
If you've studied a higher education course before and received funding, SAAS do not take this into account if you apply for PTFG. We cannot give a definitive answer on whether you would be awarded the PTFG as it is not The Open University who awards the funding, it is SAAS.
With regards to our courses the vast majority will start again in October. Registration for courses starting in October will open on the
15th March and close on the 7th September. From the 15th
March you can register online (https://msds.open.ac.uk/signon)
or by giving us a call on 0300 303 5303 (Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:30).
I hope this information helps and wish you a very pleasant rest of the day.
