M04 courses

Hi there,

I'm interested in your Master of Engineering course (M04), but I have noticed that many of the course modules listed specify a date that they expect to be the last time that course is offered, which is before the time I would be ready to take them.  For example, in the description for the Stage 4 course The MEng individual project(T460) it says 'We expect it to start for the last time in October 2026.'  Students beginning their degree in April 2024 (or later) will not have reached Stage 4 by October 2026, and it looks like many of the courses currently listed will not be available by the time said students reach the time to take them.  My question is, for M04 students starting next year, what courses will the later stages of the degree comprise of?

Any information you can provide would be much appreciated!

Hi Katrina

There will always be enough modules available to enable you to complete your chosen qualification.

As all modules have a life span, when they are approaching the end of their term the faculty decides to either extend the life of a module, rewrite elements of it or create a new replacement module. You can see how this works in the Academic Regulations 2023-24 (Taught Courses) at: https://help.open.ac.uk/documents/policies/academic-regulations

I hope this helps but do come back to us if there is anything you would like to ask.
