Hi there,
One way to become a teacher, is
to get a degree and then a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) to give
you Qualified Teacher Status to be able to teach at either Primary or Secondary
level.
The Open University does not offer PGCEs but you can do your degree with
us to enable you to go on to do a PGCE elsewhere through a wide
range of higher education institutions around the UK, or through a school-based
training scheme. Generally speaking you can study any degree and become a primary teacher, whereas if you wish to study a specific subject, e.g. maths, you would need a maths related degree. We offer a range of courses, I have attached a
link to these below:

I have provided below a link to
the Gov.uk Teacher Training website, which you can use to look up PGCE
providers in your area should you wish to make enquiries about their entry
criteria. This is very important as you must establish the course you wish to
study is eligible for a PGCE in your local area.
