HNC Healthcare Practice

Good day all,

I am interested in studying for the HNC Healthcare Practice. I see OU is offering CertHE. Can someone kindly advise if the two are the same or different qualifications? If same, kindly also advise on the next steps that i need to take in order to register.

Thank you.

Hi Nangisai,

Thank you for your enquiry and interest in studying with The Open University (OU). The Prospects website says, “An HNC is equivalent to the first year of a university degree or a Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE). It is a Level 4 qualification on the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), and is typically one year full-time, or two years part-time” – please see the link below for more information:

We would encourage you to complete your own research into the study route for your aims, e.g. by consulting a careers service. Following your research, you are welcome to discuss your study intentions with one of our advisers. Our full contact details can be found on the ‘Contact Us’ section of The Open University website, or by visiting: https://www.open.ac.uk/contact

Registration to start the course this February will close on 11th January. You can register online: through the website, or by phone: 0300 303 5303, Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:30 (UK time). Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Best wishes,

Neems
