Creative Writing

I already have 240 credits. How much will it cost and over what period to achieve a BA in creative Writing?

Hi Alan

Thanks for your message.

We offer a range of degrees which incorporate Creative Writing alongside another subject. You can see these here:

https://www.open.ac.uk/courses/creative-writing/degrees

If your previous study is in the same subject and was completed in the last 16 years you can apply for credit transfer of up to 240 credits towards one of these degrees. This would mean you could study part time over 2 years or, if you have the time to study at full time intensity which would require 32-36 hours per week from October to June, you could complete it in one year. You can see how credit transfer works here:

https://www.open.ac.uk/courses/apply/credit-transfer

Courses start in October and registration will open mid-late March which is when the fees will be available. If you are applying for credit transfer you do this as soon as possible and before registering for a course so you know which module you would start your studies with. If you have already applied for and been awarded credit transfer you can register for your first module when registration opens in March.

I hope this helps. You are welcome to ask us questions here or you can contact our Student Recruitment team where they will be pleased to help. The telephone number is 0300 303 5303 and lines are open Monday to Friday 8am - 5.30pm.
