International student

Dear Admissions Team,

I am currently a student at the Open University of Sri Lanka, completing a foundation course to fulfill my Advanced Level subject requirements. I have completed my A/Ls with one pass and am working towards meeting the necessary qualifications.

I would like to know if, upon completing my foundation course here in Sri Lanka, I would be eligible to apply for admission to the Open University in the UK. Specifically, I am interested in understanding if my foundation qualification would be recognized and if I could transfer or apply for a degree program at your institution.

Any information or guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Malindi

Thanks for your message.

Most of our undergraduate courses are open entry so you don’t need to meet any entry requirements. Have you decided on a course? You can see the courses available and if there are any entry requirements at the link below:

https://www.open.ac.uk/courses

Most of our degrees permit credit transfer where you can transfer relevant study to reduce the time and cost of completing an Open University degree - we call this credit transfer. The number of credits which can be transferred depends on the qualification you want to study, the academic level of your previous study and where it was studied. You can read about credit transfer and how it works below:

I hope this information is helpful. If you would like to talk about your options you are welcome to call our Student Recruitment team on +44 300 303 5303. Lines are open Monday to Friday 8am – 5.30pm.
