Studying Online: Set Times?

Hello,

I’m a 34 year old who has worked full-time in the emergency services since I finished school and I’m considering studying for a degree at the OU. I’m looking at language studies specifically and obviously online is the only way I can do this with full-time job, mortgage, family etc.

I’m just wandering if anyone can advise are the classes / studies I will access online scheduled at set times or can I complete them at times around my work? Only that I work shifts / nights etc so wandering if still have to log in at specific times as if I was joining a class in person.
