Hi Jonathan,
I really like your pictures of trees.
Best wishes

In my experience, as technology moves on, we utilise it. Why not?
There's nothing wrong with 'preserving' old skills and habits, but this doesn't stop us integrating it with the new.
As an illustrator long ago, I was trained and employed for using pen and ink. It was when computer design was just becoming available on mainstream, and although I gave it a go, I just couldn't "use my hand" with it. I still sketch, and doodle, by hand but while I admire those who use computers to create illustrations that are way beyond my ability, it's admiration and not sadness or envy.
The biggest problem with the present is you cannot return to the past, so you might as well embrace it.
The NHS Couch to 5K is OK, but much more effective if done with a group of people rather than solo. Its the social side of running that keeps most people motivated.

I was interested in signing up for the Zoe monitoring too, but they have confirmed that I need a mobile phone app and I can't do it vi an online app. So they've lost a well motivated customer as I don't have a phone capable of supporting the app. They did say that they are looking into making an online version too..

Loving the video. Nature does have rights and they are incorporated into 'Environmental Law' with statues and guidelines for a myriad of separate topics from pest control, animal welfare, 'rights of rivers', tree protection orders and so on. Some are enforceable and policed, others not so. Look how long the ban on fox hunting took to bring in. The idea that the massive loss of wildlife, small birds especially, caused by domestic cats is quite another matter. I rather think pet owners will win out. In some respects the same can be said about dogs - though a dog caught attacking sheep can be shot.
Very nice!
The picture is very nice by the way. I created a few videos about the value of the UK greenery.
Let me know what you think about the posts.
HERE, is a video that I made a few months ago to raise awareness about the topic.
Let me know what you would add to it .
Hi Jonathan,
I found your post very interesting about mushrooms and Funghi. Your photographs are very good and clear.
Best wishes

I have struggled getting 'Markstakes Women' right, and then when I did I had dirt/grit on the roller so they all come out with marks on them (this was my hand printing at home practice run I suppose). I'll take the linocut to a print shop/class on Thursday.
I like it! Nice colour and style.
It is lovey to read your article. It motivates me to carry on.
Thank you for sharing your ADHD. I am also an ADHD student.
Would be nice to have RSS feed for blogs, so I could share your blog posts on trade-free social media https://social.trom.tf (Fediverse)
Yes, I like that metaphor of structuring your life on rail tracks. It certainly does.
What district are you standing for? There's no Green candidate in my area, and I had to vote for someone else 😧. There are in the areas neighbouring.
Yes, the coast of OU courses has become a determining factor. One the one hand you could say it excludes the so-called 'leisure learner' (what was ever wrong with that), or learning on a whim (which might include me), whilst now you have to be pretty serious (or have the money) - wherein lies the problem, especially for The OU, which has always prided itself on providing Tertiary education to those who missed out on a university education because they had left school early, or had had other issues to deal with - not least financial. Education is so very important it should not be sold as a luxury good; it should cost something, more like water than whisky!
I might be able to continue the PGCE this coming academic year - I rather think I have to if I want to complete it. My first year was paid for by the college where I was working, this final year I would need to pay for myself which I currently can not do. I enjoy the commitment it requires, I rather think studying (at least for me) can be like setting your life on a set of rail-tracks - it provides structure in the chaos!
The prices of postgraduate modules are ridiculous, aren't they? I hope you can do your Fine Art Masters one day. How is your PGCE going?
This is quite an old post, but I’ve just found it. I like these analogies. It’s very useful to understand your own style.
Hi Jonathan,
Glad to hear you are feeling better!
Best Wishes
