DR RACHEL HILLIAM
Hello, I’m Dr Rachel Hilliam and I’m a Senior Lecturer in Statistics with the Open University.
I want to tell you today about a qualification that we have, called the Graduate Certificate in Theoretical Statistics and Probability.
This certificate is designed for people who have been analysing data in their workplace but have never studied the theory behind many of the techniques that they are applying.
The qualification consists of two Open University statistics modules. And, you’ll need a good level of mathematical competency, including areas such as calculus, to study these modules.
These modules will equip you with the theoretical knowledge to help you in your work as a statistician.
You’ll also learn how to apply probability theory to model situations in applications such as finance, genetics and environmental studies.
So, come along and see what the OU has to offer to enhance your employability prospects as a statistician, analyst and data scientist.
I’m hoping to see you on one of those modules soon!
