I HATE Amazon.  It's insidious, greedy and intent on world domination.

I REFUSE to buy from it, but I suppose I'm a bit guilty because I do buy on line from Waterstones - but only books!

I HATE Tesco, McDonalds, Costa Coffee....Nandos et al.    Grrrr.....

I want to see all the Jessop shops, numerous HMV on every corner, Woolworths (!), independent, quirky shops, and the other familiar High Street landmarks we used to enjoy!

(I'll get my coat.....)

No need for coats! It's funny, isn't it, how with all those sci-fi writers who have been said to have 'predicted' the internet etc none of them predicted the social and economic impact of online shopping... It's all happened so very, VERY quickly, and in lots of ways we seem to have thrown the baby out with the bathwater.

I hate to think of myself as a 'technophobe', but I honestly do think the internet, smartphones, social networking etc etc have created far more problems than they've ever resolved. All that power, and we haven't got a bloody clue what to do with it so we just treat it lika a toy. *tsk*

Thank you both for comments :D

Agree with Jo Ann I refuse to buy from amazon even if I can't find the book in Waterstones.
