Bought some sprouts from the Sunnyside Farm Shop. Countryside sodden. The Water Board have installed a temporary pipe beside the lane to Rickinghall, as the road is awash. Saw a skull in the ditch. Guess it was that of a fox or a badger.

If it had a crest of bone on top it is a mature badger, if two ridges either side a young badger. A tutor acquired one in Ireland and showed me the difference - apparently he was very into collecting deceased animals and skeletons and keeping them in the house until his wife threw a wobbley and made him move the collection to an OU premises.
