Starting to learn about blogs

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by John Jamieson, Wednesday, 20 May 2015, 21:04

In my attempts to learn about blogs, I have produced a kind of brief CV profile in the 'view profile' section of this blog. It consists of the paragraph which I include in reports which I produce for Court. Hopefully it gives a reasonably accurate impression of my working life at least - past and present.

I have now edited the profile and added my business postal address and e-mail address.

Elate(D), TMA and Stage 3

I wonder why my blog is appearing on the left hand side of the computer screen while other peoples blogs which I've read are in the middle?

Also, not sure about how to 'tag' and what it's for, but will have a go anyway.

Tagging

Haven't been able to 'tag' yet 'cause haven't worked out how to do it!

Yes how the hell does one tag? I can tag on facebook but I haven't the foggiest on here.

Adding tags to blog posts

You can't tag comments, but you can tag your blog posts.  Don't you get this dialog box?

Thanks, Simon. I think I'm beginning to get the idea. However, what does a 'tag' do?

Kerawalla et al (2008)

I have now read an article on blogging which was a great help in explaining to me why people might want to blog. However, it didn't really say anything about how to blog in the first place.

I think I'm beginning to get the idea.

What a blog is for.

I think a blog could be used as a personal learning journal which others can read or comment on if they wish. Maybe I'll be able to reflect more on my learning if I get into blogging. Maybe I'll become part of a little community of learners and learn from students and tutors who decide to comment on my comments? We'll see.

There are a handful of people who blog and write words of wisdom or joy.  The rest of us are just scribbling on the toilet wall.

Go for it.  It's your wall.  Some toilet graffiti is pure brilliance.

Toilet cubicle left wall in Jersey airport: "Toilet tennis.  See other wall."  Opposite on the right hand wall it said: "Toilet tennis.  See other wall."

Genius, utter genius.

Comment on Simon's graffitti of 20.05.15

Hi Simon,

I found your graffiti quote interesting. It reminded me of one I saw myself which said something like "God is dead", signed 'Nietsche'. Underneath it someone had drawn a streak of lightning and had written: "Nietsche is dead", signed 'God'.
