It's been 3 years since I came back to the UK after 10 years overseas (Malaysia, Bahrain, UAE). I now qualify for domestic student fees, so time to think about further study. I finished the MAODE about 2 years ago, but need E891 before I can do a PhD.
Professionally, life in the UK has been a struggle. Plenty of work through agencies but no full time contract so still scratching a living doing pre-sessional EAP courses in the summer and delivering English language support for military personnel from the Gulf at the local RAF base the rest of the time. Not sure how I will be bale to reflect on teaching here as it is unlike anything else I have done. Highly content specific and, unless you are into aircraft engineering, very tedious. Hoping to relate my studies to my occasional overseas work (teacher development) with the British Council.
