Me West Shore

Into the Wild, Blue Yonder

Visible to anyone in the world

Here I am at the tender age of 51 (let's be honest, don't know about "tender" but more of an old boiler at this stage...) I am embarking upon a course of study that may or may not lead to a Dip HE, and if I really get my "stuff" together, a BSc in Social Sciences.

My age may be an advantage here: I have reached an age where I am mature enough to take on this level of study. As someone once said, "Education is wasted on the young." Also with my age come life skills and experiences that I didn't have at the time I should have been going to Uni from College in my late teens. With relation to my course of study these are invaluable.

There is a lot in the module DD102 that I can relate to, because City Road in Cardiff- being a microcosm of society in the 21st Century- has a lot in common with the street where I live, where life played out on City Road is mimicked in miniature here on Heath Street.

A microcosm of a microcosm?

You are right, your age will be an asset, not a disadvantage. I have found as I got older I became more motivated and had the self-discipline to keep going regardless. I managed to complete my BSc at 56, so you can do it too.
