My Simpson's Portrait

Back to school

Visible to anyone in the world

My OU materials arrived today and I was as excited as a six year old, opening a new book for the first time. It has been more than 20 years since I last studied for anything, so this excitement is also mixed with some trepidation.

My main concern is organising my time in a structured and regular way. I work as a freelance strategist in advertising and, as a result, am usually working on last minute projects, with irregular hours and crazy deadlines. This industry seems to thrive on everyone working intensively at the last minute and this is what I am used to. We even have a name for it:  "Brinkmanship".

I want to learn to work in a more planned and measured way for my degree and I'm going to have to, in order to fit my studies in around work. If any fellow students have any tips or advice, I'd be very grateful!

It is mostly here:

StudentHome, Study Support, Planning and prioritising

and

StudentHome, Study Support, Friends and Family

If you want this degree, you will succeed.  Do not let other people plan your life's priorities, if this is really what you want.
