The mandola banjo

Visible to anyone in the world

is mine!!

And I passed SD329.

But the MD's the important bit.  Oh, and the mulled scrumpy in Bath this evening, by a real fire with old friends.

It's been a good day for sure.

Isn't it also known as a banjolele? like George Formby's.

Thanks guys.

Nathan, a banjolele is a banjo crossed with a ukulele.  A mandola banjo is a mandola strung as a banjo.  A mandola has a lower tuning than a mandolin - much the same as the difference between a viola and a violin.  The difference here is that a mandola has 8 strings, whereas this is a 5-string mandola banjo, and tuned to banjo tuning.  It has a completely different sound to the banjo.

I'm not well-up on knowing all the different names of the instruments, I like listening to a mandolin so would love the one you mention which has a lower sound, and well done and congrats on successfully completing all those years of hard work big grin

Hey Rosie

Really well done with SD329 and completing your degree!!  You've done amazingly well considering all you've been through lately smile.  You should be really proud of yourself and I'm sure you will be in time.
