If you carry on without waiting for the mark from submitted TMAs, that will help hugely.  Sometimes tutors take much longer than the ten working days they are permitted - thy have life issues too.  Also, some tutors will not start marking until all the people who have asked for extensions have submitted theirs.  I have waited up to four weeks for TMAs to come back; on one occasion I actually got a TMA back on the morning of the module exam.

I think you are right not to get too many weeks ahead because you are on your own if you get stuck.  But you are also right to prepare for TMA02, one step at a time.

Another benefit of keeping going, sticking to your study routine, is that it makes it easier on the people around you.  They know when you are not available, that you are serious, that you can't just leave it when they want you to do something.

Hi Simon.. thankyou so much for your valid comments. as always, with those who have exerience in OU , your points about not necceassarily waiting for the tutors marks are greatly valued.  i plan to do my 2nd assigment with the knowldge of this but to leave a little room for an alternative outcome depending on the marks and views of my marks.
