feeling dissappointed if im honest with myself. i truly thought i'd done ok, howver my mark suggests otherwise sitting at 56%.
I knew my referencing would be a possible issue, however, i thought it was a case of copying the reference text ouit of the book..
how wrong was i !!
so.. 10th novemeber will see me sitting in at a 3 and a half hour tutorial hoping to clear up any misgivings about rerefencing... sadly only then will i feel confident enough to tackle tmq 02.
down but not quite out...

Do not be disappointed with 56%. This is not GCSE or A Level where one can get high marks. At degree level the marking works differently and high marks are rare. Getting 90+% and a series of A* marks at earlier levels does not result in 90+% at degree level.
Remember: to get a degree you need to average 40% or more, that's all.
I'm assuming you are at level one. At level one there is only pass or fail. That is because level one is about getting prepared for the study at level 2: how to reference, how to lay out TMAs, how to write in an academic way.
You are not expected to get high marks at this stage. You need to learn what the OU expects, you can't know that yet.
For TMA01, at degree level, 56% is just fine. Actually, it's not bad at all. Keep that up in your degree and you'll get a respectable 2:2 at the end and there's no shame in that.
Of course your referencing is an issue: it takes time and practice. Lots. You'll still be finding new fiddly referencing at levels 2 and 3.
Tackling your TMA02 can be started without knowing referencing. Just make sure you keep track of the URL of web pages in your notes, and the page number and title of books. So long as you can find them again later you can always work out the correct reference. But it is better to have a go at getting it right in the meantime.
In short, you are doing fine.

Hi Sharon
I feel I should say hi and I am right there with you, I just my grade back for TMA01 Psychology and counselling, mine was a 58, I wish I could be as upbeat as you are, I see it as a bitter disappointment, in my world that is at best a C+
I think your referencing was way better than mine, I really do not understand how to reference correctly. I just wanted to say keep going and good luck, i will try to show the good spirity and deturmination you are showing. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it shows people like me we are still in the game.
