Dear Brian,
I forgot your birthday
and there are no excuses
You turned eleven on Tuesday
and I knew this.
Now that you are a teen
between a kid and and a grown-up
Some things will seem
Little but blown-up.
The most important lesson
You taught me last September
Kindness is life’s blossom
That’s all there’s to remember.

How proud I am of you
