Studying Reputation

Visible to anyone in the world

I just got my study books through, I am so excited. So I only read the introduction and I got so much out of it already. I never really thought about how we encounter the Arts and Humanities in everyday life, be it by choice or deliberate. I had my TV on, wasn't particularly watching it till an advert came on talking about a historical coin.  Coins are not only a source for economical history or just for art work but they can give so much information about their origin and nature, religion, cults and autonomous artistic features such a portraiture as well as monetary policy. Food for thought and all this through a TV ad.

I quite agree, ancient coins can be fabulous. I once had a coin minted in the reign of the Roman Emperor Elagabalus. His mintings are quite distinctive. On one side, where you expect a Victory to be standing serenely holding a chaplet and a trident, you see instead, a Victory with her trident streached, out running to the defense of the empire.
