I can say wtf in here because it's MY space. If I were walking around Preston I might get arrested for saying wtf apparently.
Also I could be fined if I spit in the street. This blog doesn't give me the option to spit, which is just as well, because none of the other options, including 'set options' seem to work. In fact 'set options' allows me to write a bit of blurb to appear above the 'set options' link. But not to set my options. Heaven knows what would happen if there was a 'spit now' button! I degress. My wtf for today is: why do I need to set the 'who can read this' for each individual message instead of the whole blog?

Life has changed in Preston
I haven'been to Preston for year, I can vaguely remember, however, walking around singing the Byrds - Mr Tambourine Man - so it was a long time ago! I sang it, however, not spat itNew comment
Isn't it bizarre (the changing status per post thingy)? wtf indeed. On the up side - I wasn't asked to sign in again (I was already signed in) to see this blog and it looks as though I can leave a mark too!Hello Janet
Here we go, trying to post a comment to Janet's Blog - can you see it?
best wishes
Dorothy
WTF!
I could read your blog Janet without signing in but had to sign in to leave a comment! I think I am going to adopt this (new to me) WTF - it feels good! Thanks

I can read your blog and make comments.commenting
Interestingly, when I clicked on comment, I suddenly found a link to my OU blog. I wasn't expecting that!links
no, I take that back. The link that says Kate Sim's blog takes me back to this posting.
Maybe I'm not meant to have an OU blog - no links on tutor home either.

Janet, you might want to compare your lament (one of your laments) to this one: http://najoll.wordpress.com/blogging-or-webpage-software-a-request/.
Apropos one of your other laments (or something close to a lament): I lived in Preston for a while. With the exception of the large park, it was very horrible. I was told, though, that the surrounding suburbs were worse (worse because violently racist). Nearby Lancaster seemed - on my superficial inspection - much better.
Finally: despite present tendencies, I imagine it is not (yet) illegal to swear in Preston's streets. (How this comment relates to the one I just made: well, enslaving people is not the way to improve Preston, or anywhere.)
Yours perhaps taking various things a little too seriously,
Nick
