Hi Eliza

:D

The smiling emoji is generated by a colon, followed immediately by a closing bracket or parenthesis. I used that method to make the smiling emoji here smile

Alternatively, you can click the insert tab above and select emoticons.

In September, when new modules start, there will be a forum to introduce yourself to other students doing the same module(s) as you for this academic year (2025/2026).

I write blog posts with stuff that comes into my mind to practice writing, and give my imagination a voice.  I find that I can rest a little and learn at the same time while I write a post.😄 This emoji I selected from the drop-down list.

I read most of the new blog posts, but it is not usual to expect comments from other people. We have all been schooled in being very careful about upsetting people with loose and careless comments.

If you keep a blog, it is very likely that some people will read it. In September, with a new influx of students, many of them will explore the OU website, and if you have a few posts already, and have developed a style that you are comfortable with, then you may get some regular readers straight away.
