H800 Week 22 Act 1d - Sclater

Visible to anyone in the world

What criteria should we use to assess whether our LMS is meeting our requirements?

Faculty can be involved in designing feedback questionnaires for their courses. Participants should be given opportunity for feedback on course content (as is the case in H800). This could be done through focus groups with chair people.

Might we be better served by a different product?

I am confused about the need, or not for a VLE. Universities can offer an 'anchor' for learning, and brand recognition is still important for employers, so having a unified design and single system for all courses makes sense.

Benefits/challenges of engaging with an open source community?

This seems like a necessity nowadays, in the atmosphere of freely available OERS. Is there another choice?
