Hi Elena,
Hope you are well,I hope you don't mind me reviewing your podcast. Below is my feedback about your podcast, let me know what you think, will be happy to amend it in light of your comments.
Sound quality – could it be improved?
The sound recording is good quality, however I think the television can be heard in the background, for me this was slightly distracting.
Broadcast quality – is the podcast well-constructed and intelligible?
It sounds scripted, I know from my experience It’s difficult to read something without making it sound scripted. However I think this perhaps sounds too scripted. It’s being read quite fast or perhaps this was me not used to hearing the person speak before. It could have done with some more pauses in place.
Suitability – does it meet the needs of the intended audience?
Yes I think the content is suitable and provides an overview of reflecting through the use of blogging.
Length – is it of an appropriate length for the subject and the intended audience, or too long or too short?
The podcast is of a reasonable length, for the subject and intended audience around 6 mins.
Interest – does it engage the listener?
To a degree yes, a bit repetitive at the start and the point about the value of reflection is emphasized a bit to much.
Academic quality – is it based on research and argument, or on opinion?
There is mention about ‘correcting’ reflections, however for me all reflections are ‘correct’ so to speak, there is no ‘wrong’ or ‘right’. Whilst there was no references to other peoples work, the arguments presented I have come across before, it also contained opinions.
Suggestions for improvement – if it was possible to improve it, how could it be altered to better suit the needs of the audience?
Record in a quieter room. Reflection is explained, however blogging perhaps could have been explained as much and the different uses. Perhaps it would have been useful to give examples or website address for students to look at blogs. Maybe talk about the different media that could be used to reflect as this would include more of the e-learning bit. Perhaps something about the way blogs are structured and that people can comment on them too.
Suggestions for use – if were to be part of an information source for practitioners, what brief notes would you put on the site to place the podcast in context?
This short podcast discusses the links between reflection with the medium of blogging.
Your Pod
I loved this, Elena.
Now I want to pod too.
