OK, I've decided to use Elan (a piece of software from the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics) to prepare and later analyse my data.
This decision involves a level of risk, as learning to use the tool and actually using it will be time-consuming.
But, as far as I can see at this point, it is exactly what I need: it will allow me to have all the layers of data in one place, visually, on a timeline. This should make analysing data from my study a much more productive endeavour.
I'm just concerned this might slow me down and make me lag behind quite a lot.
