.was done in the form of a cows head..
Arm....Chest...Arm....Shaka was one of the greatest Zulu warchiefs...and an excellent military strategist. It is said the Zulu inhaled something like marijuana before any battle..There is in Spike Milligan's book 'it ends with magic' an excellent description of this battle and of course there is the very famous painting by Charles Edward Fripp..
..
A great loss for Britain at the time.

I can't think of anything worse than a joint before battle. Best drunk probably. Is an interesting area of research - what they used to feed the fighter pilots WW2- and on to the present day.Hey
Hey Mat..niether can I. First you'd be already then the battle would begin and you'd be distracted by the excellent sunrise and want to tell someone about it..then be depressed cos no-one wants to talk about what you want to talk about and "Is anyone else thirsty..I'm that parched and why are we attacking again.." grin. I became obsessed with both films 'Zulu' and 'Zulu Dawn' and did a project on the 'Zulu' in Junior school. The Spike Milligan book is good though,.its about his ancestors and the army including diary excerpts. Bit racist but then so was Spike,(but written well)..mind so was my mum who could never watch the films. My Uncle fought in the second world war(El Alamein) and his stories were an insight on how real wars are(did you know people died in them..shocking("I can't shoot him..he's gorgeous!(grin). "Sure, and when they send me for a soldier the devil will be my sargeant"(Trad arr) oh,and soldiers are very brilliant at improvisation-ref:poem(song-'No balls at all'(grin)
