Die Grammatik – hin und her
One way to deal with in and her is to ignore them. In fact CGP in GCSE German says “the best way to understand a sentence [with them] is to ignore them”. (CGP, 2000) Very teach to the test of them.
In thema 6 we are shown two examples complete with separable verb to add spice : (Murphy, 2003)
„Christians Zimmer geht auf den Garten hinaus.“
„Ja, das ist mein Zimmer, das hat 12 m2 und ist eigentlich besonders schön, weil es auf den Hof hinausgeht.“
One simple example from thema 4 is from the audio recording of the monks explaining about the girl day pupils.
