I seem to have used this card.
Over two weeks ahead of schedule the M208 exam results came out today. I got a grade 2 with 65% for the exam and 93% for the continous assessment.
Given the stuff-up I made of the exam this is way beyond my expectations and, frankly, much more than I deserve.
Looking at the break-down of the results it looks like the mark bell curve has been shifted down [I should have required 70% for a grade 2]. Which is a bit odd, as I thought, despite my woeful efforts, that the exam was pretty fair.
On [another] plus side this should mean a good crop of distinctions for my tutorial mates.

Grade 2 for me as well mate missed distinction by 4 %
But only grade 3 on Complex Analysis

That's robbery: I get a grade 2 on 5% off and you miss a distinction on 4% off! Life's not fair. Still getting 81% is pretty good going, especially when you had two courses on the go at the same time.
Pity the course forum is closed, I'd like to know how everybody else did.
Anyway see you soon for groups and knots...

As you asked Neil I got a grade 2 as well with OES 81% and OCAS 92%. I did a lot better than I did on MS221 and I hope I will do even better on MST209 next year so am not too dissapointed. I think I can say I got what I deserved.

Well done Charles!
80% plus is always an annoying score, you're left thinking, 'if I had only...'. Still a 2 is a very good result.
Good luck with MS209. Chris and I are off for some Topology & Groups.

Hi I've Decided to postpone M336 till October 2013 partly because I think Topology will require my full attention but also because I've discovered this
http://www.oca-uk.com/distance-learning/music
The chance to get training in Composition over the next three to four years culminating in the composition of a large scale piece seems to good to miss
I always regretted the fact that there seemed no where to go in terms of composition or music theory after the Diploma in Music I did 10 years ago. I'll give myself 6 months to revise A214 then apply
I'll still be doing MS324 though (as light relief )
Well done Charles

Well done ;)New comment
Well all the best to the pair of you, at least I can keep following your blogs. I think I will have a go at fluid mechanics and optimization come October. I may even try and attend a tutorial, I have to admit I have never been to one, I tend to be a bit of a mushroom.

@Joyce, no, lucky
@Rosie, I didn't
@Charles, that course I didn't fancy. I think that it might use MathCalf [sic].
You do need to [ie should try to] get along to tutorials; not only do you meet like-minded nutters, but there's stuff that you can learn there...
@Chris, good choice! I'll miss you with the knots, but as you know, I think that you ... I was going to say try too hard, or try to do too much in a munch, but I think it might be better put along the lines that you don't factor-in the fun-factor. You need a bit of music methinks.
That said I'll forever remember your knackered, and yet chipper, state before the exam. Sometime soon I'll be in your position, I hope I cope half as well.
aw ra best
