...or metric spaces, or the concept of distance in multi-dimensional Euclidean-spaces, or whatnot, [or, going mad, Reimann manifolds anyone?]
For once I'm a wee bit ahead of the course-calendar[s]. Still, not happy but am.
Because I've been physically, a-bit broken, I've been lying in my bed doing my maths whenever I possibly can. What started out as a sedate ride through one of the, few, bits of M208 that I understood, is now showing signs of getting out of hand. But that's just maths; the known is built upon unto a madness.
That's what I like about maths; a simple statement can be stretched into a whole host of crazy-mind-bending-seeming truths. Truths that can be proved to be true.
I'll never understand these, or create new ones. I know that. At least I've signed up for the journey.

Actually, it sounds brilliant, amazing & difficult. At the mo I'm going to be starting on Integration of curl & divergence in a surface. Not too dissimilar, but makes me go to sleep if I look at it too long.New comment
You and I Roo march to the beat of different drums—pure and applied.

Well Neil, I haven't a clue what you are talking about but I'm glad you are not on the floor in a sea of blood. Hope you are OK. x
