..simple bugger will suffice. Federer was just too good.

I'd worried that Murray just wouldn't turn up but he did, he just wasn't good enough. The fact that he was even in there speaks volumes; some of the points were incredible.

The poor sod has been so unlucky—in any other era he would have won a major by now. Today I saw a Murray that was a Sandy Lisle, not a Colin Montgomery—someday soon he will be a winner.

Neil, you are one of dozens who have mentioned the 'if it was another time' but surely the whole point of being Wimbledon champion, or any other champion for that matter, is the fact that you can beat all-comers, regardless of who they are. It is no good saying he would be champion if Nadal wasn't there or Federer wasn't there. A lot of people would be champions if all the good opponents weren't around. He is another Brit 'nearly'. Lets face it, he doesn't have the mental strength to be champion, not yet anyway. wink
