I do that all the time. As a matter of fact, all my programming stuff is mostly done at work on a Windows client to fit OU requirements (once I used pure Linux and got a bloody nose, for example Linux has no key-release event and some other things are different).
Work comes first and if there is a spare hour or less, its not a bad thing to learn something?!? You might need it in your job anyway.
