Exam Result A219

Visible to anyone in the world

I received my exam result today, just scrape a pass at 44%. I have to say I'm really disappointed as I averaged 76% in the TMA section. In fact I feel a little insulted when it stated 'inadequate' in 3 sections of Qn1... There appears to be a massive discrepancy between my course work and exam. Yet I didn't feel the exam questions were hard and thought I answered them quite well.

I feel something isn't quite right as the moved me up a level too...happy about that BUT not at all happy with exam result!

Exams are awful. What you take from a course is what you take from a course. What it isn't the result. We aren't olympians. OK it's nice to do well but well only means that we said what others think.

This is a process that is designed to mash our heads, to make us think.

Think about how much better you are.

I'm sorry the exam didn't go as you'd hoped. There generally seemed a good vibe from everyone afterwards, I'm surprised that's happened.

I'm also going from A219 to A200 smile. Good luck! I'm hoping to make more tutorials this time as I enjoyed them when I got the chance to go.

Hi Patrick

Sorry to hear the exam result was a disappointment - but - you passed!  Focus on that - onwards and upwards!

Quite a few students do have trouble with exams.  There are techniques which can be learned and practised - I would suggest that you mention your concerns to your new tutor at the start of your new course.  There is quite a lot of support available.

You could also speak to study support at your Regional Centre straight away - I have always found them very helpful and interested in getting the best out of students.

Good luck!

I'll be interested to hear how you get on with A200.  It's a course I will very likely include in my current work towards a Humanities degree.
