HTML - surely not!

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Deborah Judah, Thursday, 2 Sep 2010, 22:21

The supplementary activity said upload your blog URL to the course Wiki.  Simple I thought.

Ha ha; not really. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong but I obviously wasn't following the instructions correctly.  Anyway my desperation turned to joy (ok, well maybe not quite joy) when I found a posting from a student with details of a great website to learn HTML.

Now I have always been the type of person who has gone totally blank when faced with anything that is too technical. My interest and, I suppose, expertise is the teaching and learning side and therefore I like my eLearning ready packaged, ( a bit like my meat).  But...I went online to the aforementioned  website.

And....ta daaa

I put in the code and my blog url is on the wiki.

What have I learned?

  1. Sharing is a great thing and I will definately follow suit if I think I have a good thing I know about.
  2. Don't be afraid to try something different it may not be as hard or complicated as first anticipated.

Roll on the next challenge smile

Glad to find I wasn't the only one to struggle. I had to post items into the tutor wiki in H807 and fumbled around at first. I was totally befuddled with this and went in and around the wiki a dozen times over 30 mins until I finally established that it was all down to a " that had come out in the wrong font and so the coding was correct.
