... it is rather a shame that the S104 module team have seen the need to place a 'news item' on the module website warning us of the penalties of plagiarism and the sharing of answers (cheating in any other terms...) in general.
This is in-spite of all that's been said and the continual good work of the many individuals that monitor, inform us about, perhaps even remove such items from the sites that are available to one and all...
There does seem to be a few of the 'don't care' brigade around with the phrase "Preaching to the converted" coming to my mind. Those that are unconcerned with such rules will probably ignore all that has been said anyway!

There's a lot of it about And so-called "social" networking makes it a lot easier. A lot of the networking is downright anti-social
It's why S104 moved from final EMA to final exam. It worries me that people don't seem to see the stupidity of cheating. In the end they just devalue the qualifications both for them and for the rest of us who prefer honest effort.

Thanks for the reply(s) Jan, I was thinking along similar lines also - as in 'others' saying things like the OU being an easy(er) option. I don't find particularly easy though and am still ploughing through the volcanoes bit of S104 right now!
I for one hope that the (hopefully) v.small minority aren't able to spoil any of it for the rest of us...

OU has never been an easy option . I think it's far harder to get a good degree via OU than via conventional full time on-campus study.
OK... you don't need any prior qualifications to start with OU, and some of the level 1 courses include a lot of bridging materials and "how to study" activities. But it soon ramps up in academic content, particularly on S104.
