I was chatting to the village cobbler. He's getting on a bit, but still sprightly, and not about to retire. As he put it, “So long as I have my Elf, I shall keep a-goin.”

I thought the Modern Slavery Act 2015, Section 1, was supposed to put a stop to that sort of thing.

Tell that to Santa!

Santa's manufacturing is done in an 'Export Processing Zone', a location outside any nation's legal statue yet whilst within his territory. So employment legislation, working hours regulations and Elven Safety Regulations do not apply. It's how he keeps his costs so low, and what he does to those poor reindeer to get them to perform as they do does not bear thinking about. There really ought to be sanctions and a boycott of Father Christmas.
As a colleague said: "My youngest said he wants trainers for Christmas. I told him now he was 10 he is old enough to make his own."
