Me in a rare cheerful mood

New comment

Then of thy beauty do I question make
That thou amongst the wastes of time must go
Since sweets and beauties do themselves forsake
And die, as fast as they see others grow
And nothing 'gainst Time's scythe can make defence,
Save breed, to brave him when he take thee hence.

Billy Wagglestick, Sonnet 12, Thomas Thorpe, London, circa 1609

How shall I persist when time runs out
And show I'm made of immortal stuff
But find some willing bird up the pub
And get her up the duff.

Albert Scroggins, toilet wall scribbling, The Dog 'n' Fleabite, circa `1973.

Apparently he'd also done a picture too, but it was painted over.  Just as well.

It's a funny and clever parody! But I wish it scanned better.
