I hear a cow mourning for her calf, forcefully taken from her by a
farmer. A deep soulful heart wrenching sound fills the sky, and echoes
over the town. She will never see her baby again. I feel her pain and
sadness. And I feel ashamed and sorry for the way humans treat other
animals. They have as much right to live and be free in this world as we
do. All that suffering inflicted on another being to fill our
supermarket shelves with milk and the myriad other dairy products that
are sold. We see it all nicely packaged in neat rows on the refrigerated
aisles, a world away from the reality of where it comes from. The way
we humans treat other animals is despicable.
