Day 23

Visible to anyone in the world
This is day 23 of my self-isolation, and that of so many others. But it has to be done.

Can anyone think why 23 is an INTERESTING NUMBER ... from any point of view?

There must be many possible answers. Interest is what we have as an individual but want to share with others.

Hi Richard

Its a prime number, also I think its the only one where the digits are are in sequence.

I used to like numbers when I was at school, which was a long time ago.  I'm lucky I even remember what a prime number is smile

Isn't 67 prime as well?

However, I'm going to stick my neck out and say that 23 might be the only prime number where if you multiply the digits together (2 x 3 = 6), either adding or subtracting that from the original number gives a result which is also prime (17 & 29)

Here's something neat I just thought of

22 - 33 = -23

...or in the other direction, it's a prime number for which the sum of each digit raised to its own power is also a prime (2*2 + 3*3 = 31). 23 has clearly been hiding its light under a bushel in cloaking itself as an obscure number
