Day 61 of OU studies.

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Casper Smith, Monday, 22 Feb 2021, 13:07

No thing! No where! Do they exist? I'm not so sure, surely every thing is some thing and any where or every where is some where. What is no thing? And where or what is no where? I'm genuinely interested, its wonders like this that nag at me, I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation, i know for sure there is not one floating around in my mind. I would be interested in any one's thoughts.

Hi Casper,

It sounds like you've come across the Buddhist concept of "Emptiness" ? Especially as explained in Zen?

If that's the case, it's probably better to think of it as total interconnectedness, interdependence, impermanence, and flow. Things exist, but not as permanently as people usually think that they do.  All in all, these ideas and notions are only tools to be used wisely and with compassion, not as dogma.

But don't listen to me big grin Find some reputable, qualified teachers of Buddhism for better explanations.

Good night smile

I listen to every one Jan, every one has a story to tell, so i will ignore you wink, and listen whole to you heartedly. Its feedback like this that makes it all worth while. I am no Dalai Lama by any stretch of the imagination, although i do feel most comfortable with the Eightfold Path, the Four Noble Truths, the Five Hindrances etc etc, You are right, thats what sparked the thought, and as is the nature of me, i come back with questions, and apply it to all most anything. I appreciate your point of view Jan, thank you. I was that annoying child asking 'why' all the time, who grew up in to the annoying adult who asks 'why' all the time. Good night Jan.
