Time to study and practise🎹 piano,?

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Gill Burrell, Sunday, 21 Jan 2024, 19:47

Hi Bloggers,

I am pleased to have started learning and practising the piano in my spare time again. I already managed to reach grade 6 when I was younger but I had to give up due to circumstances beyond my control.

The main reason I took up playing piano again was boredom really to be locked up at home during the lockdown. I also had a little fall a while back,  in which I hurt my hand so I thought it might be good to exercise my hand a little bit to strengthen the muscles. I will try to play some classical and folk music at first which is gentle, easy and slow.

I am going to see how it goes and just play for relaxation in between studying,  for short bursts in between activities and family life.

What hobby or hobbies have you taken up during lockdown?

I Hope you are all keeping well and that your studies are progressing well.

Hi Gillian,

Music wise I like Queen and The Shadows and mostly I end up picking up my bass guitar and playing along with them to keep my fingers working.

About 3 years ago before I had to spend time in hospital I recorded my own version of a Shadows piece originally written and recorded by Jean Michel Jarre ( Equinox Part 5 ) and a version of Brian May's song too much love will kill you which he wrote for his Back To The Light album released in 1993 I think it was though I might be incorrect.

The song reappeared on the Made in Heaven album where Freddie Mercury sang it and then Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon filled in the rest, absolutely cracking album and highly recommended listening.

If you ever need any help with your music I would be more than happy to offer any if required.
