Musical afternoon

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Gill Burrell, Monday, 21 Feb 2022, 09:44

Today I was happily humming a little tune,  because I am feeling in quite an upbeat mood. My son gave me a new music book with music from 70s and 80s, so I am really looking forward to playing some of the little pieces in this book, whenever I get some spare time.

However, this will not be for long as my books will be soon arriving one of these days,  for my next module E302. English, Creativity and language. (Level 3) for  BA in language studies. Once my course starts I will be very busy. I think I am going to really enjoy this module a lot, as I like creative writing and poetry, but I don't expect it to be easy!

Husband and son have gone out for the afternoon for a walk, so I better have a little musical session while I still can!

Best wishes and happy studying!

Hi Gill

Thats the best way to enjoy a music session, I often used to wait until mum and dad had gone out for the afternoon ( as they did practically everyday ) before I would start playing music myself and/or composing a new tune/song as I could often find it distracting if I was being bombarded with questions of what's that piece called, do you want to get it recorded while it's fresh inyoir mind etc.

I always found it easier to work on it 1st before presenting it and saying see what you think of this, once mum and dad had heard it they would then start add ideas, well dad would as mum liked to just listen a tune/song as it evolved towards the final version.

Once dad and I had got the composition as good as we could then we'd get it recorded to ensure we wouldn't forget it.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your comment. That sounds good, you are lucky to have supportive musical parents to help you. However I am sure you are very talented yourself. Bravo!

Best Wishes
