Foraging for Autumn berries

Visible to anyone in the world

The Berries which I picked when out foraging, and with the apples from my tree in the garden, I have made a lovely jam out of the apples, elderberries and blackberries, which I eat on toast for breakfast. Delicious!

Nice image again, Gill

I've just enjoyed my shredded wheat with about eight of ours, Gill.

Yesterday, I picked what will be the last of a bumper crop, from a small area of our front boundary. What we haven't had, the sparrows have mostly enjoyed. I suppose it's a little early for them to be over, but then, with the (even) subtle change in climate and weather (I'm talking about England and UK here, California and Australia have experienced changes much less than subtle, as you are aware) means the seasons are shifting slightly.

I trimmed off all the dead heads (as those brown pieces within your image, next to the luscious fruit). The nights are drawing in too. Autumn very close...

All the best to you,

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the tip I will take the dead heads off too,  from the ones in my garden. Climate change is happening all around us. I think you can see the signs much more acutely living in the countryside.

Best wishes Gill

Agree about the climate change Gill, now undeniable. That's one reason why we are very soon changing our own heating system (though we can't use solar panels - in a conservation area).

A small erratum - I meant, of course, more than subtle changes (when speaking of California and Australia).

Have a lovely weekend,

Jeremy
