We're watching as the world goes by Each person keeps a watchful eye The pattering of the childrens feet Their mothers in the garden meet Each drinking in the midday heat The sound of wind whistling through a field of wheat The sound of a ball kicked in the street The children going to buy a treat The sound of the rustling leaves The Jangling of car keys Some people in the town are shouting Some children going on an outing Workmen working on the road A truck passes by with a heavy load Women going to the supermarket A man in a car ponders where to park it A window cleaner polishes a window clean A crook that knows that he's been seen A black cat cries by lamp post green People dreaming of going up to the coast Where they can do what they likeĀ doing most
People watching - poem
We're watching as the world goes by
Each person keeps a watchful eye
The pattering of the childrens feet
Their mothers in the garden meet
Each drinking in the midday heat
The sound of wind whistling through a field of wheat
The sound of a ball kicked in the street
The children going to buy a treat
The sound of the rustling leaves
The Jangling of car keys
Some people in the town are shouting
Some children going on an outing
Workmen working on the road
A truck passes by with a heavy load
Women going to the supermarket
A man in a car ponders where to park it
A window cleaner polishes a window clean
A crook that knows that he's been seen
A black cat cries by lamp post green
People dreaming of going up to the coast
Where they can do what they likeĀ doing most
'Watching as the world goes by.'
