DWP and errors.

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Hede Maria Cavell, Saturday, 22 Jan 2022, 14:47

I hope you are all settling into 2022.

My first gripe of the year the DWP.

I have to wonder if the DWPs' computer system is the same one used by the post office, 'Horizon'.

We have all paid into the system by way of national insurance and tax to assist in providing society a service for the time we are unable to work due to various circumstances.  At the time people are at their most vulnerable and their dignity stripped we turn to the DWP.  However, we appear to pay the DWP to have an attitude of stigmatisation and total reliance of a generic computer system, framework and structure that is so complicated that they do not even know all the 'ins and outs'. Pensioners have been underpaid, and many people are still waiting over 9 months to be assessed for their capacity benefits, the format being, if after the year is up and you have not had your assessment you then have to reapply and start again. How is that helping those that are vulnerable and have mental health issues ? It is not the fault of the people waiting yet they are the ones that are penalized.

It is all left up to the good old generic computer and a generic script . If anyone has seen, 'Carry on Loving'  the computer used to pick out the matches would be more beneficial than the DWP system !

Successive governments appear to have failed  in the upkeep for the welfare of this country. Have we forsaken yet again, human beings for the sake of state of the art machinery that is incompetent to handle societies issues? Who is observing the DWP ? Who is making sure that our money is being spent wisely and not being spent on infrastructures that are clearly not fit for purpose?  One has to wonder how much interest has been made on all the money that has been withheld.

Are we the ones at fault for trusting the people that we put in charge will do right by us, by employing the right person with the right qualifications and a  knowledge of ground floor societal needs? Or are we entrusting them to  employ the person with the best budget  cutting skills. Has budget cutting  really worked or has it been a false economy ?  Follow the link to see just one failed  groups of society.
