Politics of language and Creativity

Visible to anyone in the world
Edited by Gill Burrell, Tuesday, 8 Mar 2022, 21:15

I am exploring book 3 of block 3.

"The politics of language and creativity in a Globalised
World"

Downloaded unit 16 onto my ReadEra so that I can read it off line when I want to.

Interested in politics so hopefully should be an interesting study especially alongside the Creative language skills.

The political dimension of language use is nothing new, but that the manner of and opportunities for expression of political ideas are evolving rapidly in an increasingly globalised and digitised world.

As in Blocks 1 and 2, three approaches to creativity are used throughout the unit to demonstrate how language and creativity in relation to ‘politics’ can be explored: creativity as an everyday phenomenon, creativity as an evaluative notion and creativity as a resource for individual and social transformation.

The three lenses for analysing creativity will continue to be used.
In Block 3 the critical lens will mainly be adopted, although importance is still accorded to the textual and contextual lenses.
Have made a start on reading the book and when I have finished the chapter I will attempt to do some of the activies.
